Come and join us in Summer Lake for a 5 day workshop. During these 5 days, we will record the beauty and the serenity of the Oregon high desert. In the Spring, over 250 species of birds visit the wildlife refuge, right across from the lodge! You can count on breathtaking landscapes, history, and wildlife to record in your sketchbook!

WHEN: August 31- September 5 (departure day)

ACCOMMODATION: Lodge at Summer Lake

COST: $880 includes: 5 day workshop, double-occupancy room (single rooms or cabins available with a supplement); daily breakfasts, dinners and packed lunches. Entry fees to Fort Rock museum and the summer Lake Hot Springs will be at your expense.

EXCURSIONS: Fort Rock, Summer Lake Hot Springs, Winter Rim, a sketch-walk on the Paiute Medicine Man Path. All excursions will be done with your own transportation. Carpooling is always an option.

Astoria, Oregon - 2009

Being the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies, Astoria, with its architecture and its history, has a lot to offer to see and sketch! Lewis and Clark arrived in the region in 1805, quickly followed by thousands of pioneers. Now it is your turn to experience and explore Astoria, taking visual notes in your sketchbook as the explorers did centuries earlier.

WHEN: September 14 -19 (departure day)

ACCOMMODATION: The Benjamin Young Bed & Breakfast

COST: $950 includes: 5 day workshop, double-occupancy room, 5 breakfasts and 4 dinners. $400 for participants not needing food or accommodation. Entry fees to museums will be at your expense.

EXCURSIONS: Fort Stevens State Park, the Astoria Column, the Columbia River Maritime Museum. We will explore the city waterfront and sketch some beautiful Victorian homes. We will do a sketchwalk along the Columbia River and ride the 1913 trolley that runs across town and beside the Riverwalk. All excursions will be done with your own transportation. Carpooling is always an option.
